Step 1: The Vehicle Is Thoroughly Washed

Every installation starts with a full exterior wash.

This isn't just about making the vehicle look clean. It's about removing dirt, road grime, bug residue, and loose contaminants that could interfere with the installation process.

Starting with a clean vehicle allows us to properly inspect the paint and begin preparing the surface.

Step 2: Decontamination and Clay Bar Treatment

After the initial wash, the vehicle undergoes a full decontamination process.

Even a clean-looking car can have embedded contaminants that aren't visible to the eye. Iron fallout, industrial particles, tar, and other bonded contaminants can remain on the paint after a standard wash.

These are removed using specialised decontamination products before the entire vehicle is clay barred.

Clay barring removes anything still bonded to the paint, leaving the surface smooth and ready for film installation.

This step is one of the biggest reasons why a professional installation differs from simply applying film to an unprepared surface.

Step 3: Paint Inspection

Once the vehicle is clean, it's moved into our workshop for a detailed inspection.

Using our lighting and inspection bays, we assess the condition of the paint and identify anything that may need attention before installation.

This is also where we raise the vehicle on our scissor lifts, allowing us to inspect lower panels, sills, bumpers, and difficult-to-reach areas from every angle.

Proper visibility makes a significant difference when preparing a vehicle for PPF.

Step 4: Paint Correction If Required

One of the biggest misconceptions about PPF is that it hides imperfections.

It doesn't.

Paint Protection Film is transparent, meaning whatever sits underneath the film will remain visible once it's installed.

If we identify light swirl marks, fine scratches, or minor imperfections during inspection, we'll recommend a light paint correction before installation.

The goal is simple: if you're protecting the paint for years to come, it makes sense to start with the paint looking its best.

Step 5: Digital Pattern Cutting

While the vehicle is being prepared downstairs, another part of the process is already happening.

Using our in-house plotter cutter, our production team digitally cuts each panel template from specialised software.

This approach allows us to achieve precise, consistent patterns while significantly reducing the need to trim directly on the vehicle.

Certain panels may also be bulk fitted, depending on the vehicle and installation requirements.

Everything is prepared in-house before the film reaches the car.

Step 6: The Installation Begins

With the paint prepared and templates ready, the installation process begins.

Each panel film is carefully positioned, aligned, and applied before the edges are tucked and sealed.

Rather than simply covering the visible areas, we focus on wrapping and finishing edges wherever possible to create a cleaner, more seamless appearance.

Throughout the installation, our workshop's large overhanging inspection lights help highlight even the smallest imperfections, allowing our installers to work with greater precision.

Step 7: Reassembly

Many PPF installations require certain components to be removed to achieve cleaner finishes.

Depending on the vehicle, this may include badges, trim pieces, lights, or other removable components.

Once the installation is complete, every component is carefully reinstalled.

The goal is for the finished vehicle to look exactly as it did before the installation - only now protected.

Step 8: Final Quality Control

Before any vehicle leaves our workshop, it goes through a comprehensive quality inspection.

The vehicle is moved into a dedicated quality control bay where we inspect every panel under controlled lighting.

We check:

• Film alignment
• Edge finish
• Surface clarity
• Contamination
• Overall presentation

Only once we're satisfied does the vehicle move to its final preparation stage.

Step 9: Vehicle Preparation and Handover

The final step is preparing your vehicle for collection.

After a final clean and inspection, your vehicle is ready to be handed back.
